I've been following your Facebook posts and I totally understand why it needs to be done this way. I'm for it and I'm really hoping others look into it so they see the possibility of promise in the future. This needs to be done right and I believe it is! Thank you!

Thanks so much for caring enough to follow along! It's not as simple as some folks think, and knowing all the little details is important!

Nice poll. Tell me: could you have made the options any more slanted?

Oh, and you 'don't want to force your will on anyone' but you're ok forcing your will on everyone by trying to abolish property tax with NO IDEA on how to replace the funding?

STFU. Enjoy your last term, nimrod.

I certainly have an idea of how to replace the funding. I just think public input is important. We're you looking for a different poll option?

Well, at least you have gained the attention of the best and brightest. Hope he wasn't one of my old neighbors..

Seems pretty reckless without a clear detailed plan. That being said in the county I am in my property taxes are extremely low and a higher sales or income tax is likely to cost me far more. Beyond that however what do we do about school funding, I don't know how realistic these proposals are, that being said it seems like we are burning down government left and right and this would just be another blow to our public education system which based on these proposals needs support. After all you provide little planning for how to actually solve any of the funding issues and seem to needlessly deflect any worry. I am all for not paying property taxes, but if it just meaning shifting the cost and disrupting our already faulting education systems thst clearly need more funding not less it doesn't seem worth the cost.

You're right, without an alternative funding scheme it would be stupid. But I have one and you're already thinking along those lines so this column has served its purpose. Hopefully, by the time I'm done the solution will be as obvious to you as it has been to me for many years.

Best wishes with this. No citizen should live on their own land by the gracious leave of the state or local government. I suspect most governments will be loathe to give up the power and I no longer trust citizens to focus long enough on much besides weed to see a bill through the process. I think its a great idea and would be good for my home state.

The local income taxes used to be capped at one percent and then our brilliant Representives fooled us by voting to allow the tax to go above 1% only if they reduced property taxes. Well then you decided it would be fine to increase it even more by using those funds to pay city debts. You people can't be trusted to do the right thing.

Property taxes should be abolished everywhere globally and not just Pennsylvania, they are utterly ridiculous.

Why i have to pay taxes from land and house i own free and clear is absolute BS.

Moreover the property taxes get jacked up every year, i've never ever heard lowering of them anywhere.

Replacing the funding : just quit every publicly funded CRT/DEI/LGBT etc useless spending program and there will be more than enough.
